The clients live in a restored 18th century barn converted to a home in the early 1980’s. The original barn conversion was beautiful but an architecturally inappropriate garage had been attached that marred the overall appearance. The home also lacked space, especially storage due to the existing vaulted barn interiors and the lack of a basement or attic. We built a three story “barn” addition, perpendicular to the existing barn creating a classic Pennsylvania farm style L. The new barn has a master suite on the third floor, 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a playroom and pantry on the second floor and a two car garage, workshop with full basement, family entrance with foyer and an expanded family room on the first floor.
